Text 28 Sep Progressssssss

Hey ya’ll

So I got a few things that I ordered in the mail today. Pretty excited to get started. I am working on two projects right now, one is making name plates out of cellphone keyboards and the other is making LED necklaces. I got my pack of blue LEDs in the mail today (seriously AWESOME).

I’ll post a picture of the finished name plate but for now these are the letters I’m going to use for mine.

I can definitely take custom orders if you want your own name/nickname or common phrase and what not. Hopefully the finished project will be up soon so you can all see it!

yeeeeea buddy!

Ay yo!

I’m really excited for today. I bought a whole mess of electronic components on the interwebz and I can’t wait to start getting down and dirty with them!

My first project is gonna be a birthday present to mahself. I want to make a “J” LED necklace to wear on my birthday so HOPEFULLY all my supplies will get here in time if not I’m gonna be only slightly disappointed.

I want to start other projects too to hopefully sell on the interwebz and start getting Rebel Pebble INK. out there. If anyone wants to shoot a question for a project that they would like that would be cool too, don’t hesitate to ask away!

I hope everyone is having a sawesome Saturday in this kinda lame weather.

Ok well that’s all I got for today, when I get my materials I will surely (shirley) be posting pics of progress and final projects. Stay tuned ya’ll!

Text 20 May “As we go on….” noooooooo!

Tonight is the last night I will be living as an Undergrad on campus as Purchase College. I am nervous to continue with life in such unsteady circumstances. I hope that the next few months will really be reassuring and enable me to recenter myself and allow change. I will never listen to “Landslide” the same way again. Springtime BBQs and late night Peter Ohring impersonations with mexican dance parties are just a few of the frequent activities that I am truly going to look back upon and miss fondly. I strongly believe that we will all do pretty darn well for ourselves in the future.

I am celebrating my graduation in Spain for a week in a half and the only thing that is holding me back is flying across the ocean. I can’t stop thinking about it. Two major events right after one another is pretty overwhelming. Only two more days until relaxation.

Text 18 Apr Force Quit

April showers bring May flowers….and diplomas. With the month of April nearing to its end, so is my time as a student as SUNY Purchase College. In order to graduate from Purchase, every senior needs to complete their own program’s version of a senior project. In May (well technically June) I will be receiving my B.A. in New Media and today was the first time I felt like my project was coming together. Today was the first day of installation for the B.A New Media Senior Show “Force Quit”. Being relatively new to the program I haven’t had a chance to really display my projects. It was overwhelming seeing everyone come together and help each other install our work and talk about each others projects.

After running around througout the warm Spring afternoon, my mind was able to wind down in my Human Rights class and I began to think. I thought of my time here at Purchase and where I will soon be heading. I am excited to be finished with school, mainly because I can’t wait to move on with my life. I can’t wait to continue making art and connecting with people, maybe even possibly collaborating on a near future project.

I can’t help but think about the future and what possibilities are hidden within it. I want to be able to look back at “Force Quit” and remember how hard I worked on my project and how accomplished I feel for finally installing it. I feel that this is a positive beginning, a well deserved excitement for my first show.
